Atlassian Implementation Consultant (Subject Matter Expert)

Job Title: Atlassian Implementation Consultant (Subject Matter Expert) Location: Albany, NY Job Description 🔹 Core Responsibilities: • Provide up to 1,500 hours of implementation services for Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Atlassian Guard • Work under individual Statements of Work (SOWs) defining objectives, timelines, roles, and deliverables • Assist DFS teams in enhancing current Jira environments according to best practices • Collaborate with DFS stakeholders to analyze business needs and translate them into Atlassian configurations • Participate in planning, workflow creation, automation, and integration tasks • Deliver documentation and support knowledge transfer to internal teams • Ensure all implementations conform to Atlassian manufacturer specifications and licensing standards 🔹 Required Qualifications: • At least 5 years of experience working with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) • At least 2 years of experience on public sector (government) projects • Must be an employee of a company that is an authorized Atlassian reseller and implementation services provider • Expertise in Jira configuration, workflow development, permissions, custom fields, and project automation • Ability to escalate and resolve issues via Atlassian support channels • Must have access to and operate within Atlassian Premium environments, including a sandbox/testing instance 🔹 Preferred Qualifications: • Atlassian certifications (e.g., Jira Administrator, Atlassian Certified Expert) • Experience with ADFS SSO, service desk best practices, and cloud migrations • Background in consulting, Agile project management, and IT service management (ITSM) 🔹 Additional Experience With: • Customizing Jira Service Management for enterprise-level ticketing and workflows • Creating documentation and Confluence knowledge bases for end users • Security and access configuration via Atlassian Guard • Experience working in short-turnaround or rapid deployment scenarios • Managing and reporting service hours against milestones in SOWs Work Schedule • Standard business hours (Monday–Friday) based on DFS operations (Eastern Time) • Service tasks may be short-term or long-term; timelines defined per SOW • No weekend or on-call work expected unless outlined in an approved SOW
